We went in and out on the Marble side, down to the Mill. It was busy on the way down to the Mill. We stayed a number of hours as we had photographers in our group. The way out at about 5pm, far less traffic coming down to the Mill. Great time, great trail, the tightest the Monster has been on.

Went up for sunrise, it was beautiful! Definitely got busier as the morning went on. Overall, very doable trial with 4 wheel drive and high clearance is needed. Some tight switchbacks and narrow roads

The trail had some good erosion on the sides with huge boulders in the trail at times. My biggest issue was that it was so narrow on a shelf road. My fear of heights kicked in and literally scared me to death. I’ve done a bunch of badge of honor trails but this one was the scariest one so far. If you have a fear of heights, you should avoid this trail. But… It was a beautiful trail and very fun for most of it. The areas around the devils punch bowl were just too much for my fear factor. But due to it being such a tight shelf road with erosion and boulders… I do feel like it is underrated as a “5.” Just due to the danger it should be a 7–8 imo.

We started from the crested Butte side at about 10:30 in the morning, drove all the way through without a problem.

Early this morning a vehicle flipped on the part West of the water crossing at the top. It is impassable we left a cone so people would start down from the Crested Butte side. We went up and helped one other vehicle get backed up and turned around. Not sure who’s vehicle it is or what the status is of the recovery.

The trip up to Crystal mill is beautiful. After that, once you pass the loop trial for lead King basin, it gets interesting. We saw a vehicle upside down in the valley, the trail was just wide enough for our 2018 Jeep on 40's. As we followed another Jeep, you can see the rocks on the ledge sliding down slightly. Small washouts on the trail make it interesting when you're literally riding the edge, the jeep dips in the rear making it feel like the road gave away! 'when in doubt, throttle it out!' awesome trail, highly recommend! If you fear ledges and cliffs, face your fears with Schofield pass! Definitely will do again!

The terrain is not overly difficult but the narrow sections on the steep ridges adds to the challenge factor. Just needed to get out a few times and have a friendly conversation about who could back up the shortest distance to find some room. Beautiful day out.

Went from crested butte to marble and back. Wasn’t too bad on a dirtbike. Devils punch bowl was the most technical part of the ride. Pretty steep and off camber rocks. Side by sides seemed to be doing it just fine. Not sure i would take a full size 4x4 up it though.

5th gen 4Runner with a 3inch lift on 33s. Took Schofield Pass from Crested Butte/Gothic to the start of Lead King Basin. Two spots between Devils upper end and lower end were tough to navigate due to what looked like a recent rock slide. Had to get uncomfortably off camber on the side of the cliff. Made it through. Sites were beautiful. Wouldn’t do it again.

Fun trail, great views. Lots of water, but not too deep. We only went as far as Crystal Mill. We did not take on the second more challenging part.
