Trail Overview
Gothic Road is a stunning drive in Crested Butte, Colorado, that takes you all the way through the Gothic Valley. The views along this drive are incredible, and the history of it is very interesting too! Initially, the road is very well maintained because of the access to the Town of Gothic, which I highly recommend making a stop at the Coffee Lab on your way through. Afterwards, the road is overall pretty smooth besides some bumps, dips, and small rocks along the way. Gothic Road takes you all the way back to connect to either Paradise Divide or Schofield Pass.
Difficulty
Rated a 3 only because of the last sections before and then around Emerald Lake, where the road turns into a shelf road for about a quarter mile. This section is not difficult and does not require high clearance, but it can be intimidating for some, which brings the rating down. It is one car length wide. Otherwise, this road is very mellow all before this. Enjoy the views!
