The well-traveled route consists predominantly of a packed dirt and gravel surface, presenting minor 2- to 3-inch ruts near the start before transitioning into a finer, powdery, and dusty dirt further along. As you ascend, the trail winds gracefully through a stunning, vibrant aspen forest, offering constant, sweeping mountain views through the fluttering leaves. A phenomenal scenic viewpoint along the route serves up expansive panoramas of the lush valley below, distant mountain ranges, and majestic, snow-capped 14,000-foot peaks glistening in the summer sun.
