Trail Overview
Mount Rosa Road (FS 381) is a scenic 4-mile out-and-back trail in the Pike National Forest near Colorado Springs, CO consisting of mostly rock, dry mud, and gravel. The trail consists of a couple of scenic stops to enjoy the views of the surrounding Pike National Forest. There is a shelf road at the beginning of the trail along with some slight off-camber sections that's suitable for most off-road vehicles. There is a steep incline consisting of larger rocks that require careful tire placement to navigate through. There are a few hard branches along the trail that may cause some light scratches on the side of full-width vehicles. The road ends around mile marker 3.7 and there are few spots to turn around for full-size vehicles. You may find several species of birds, some deer, and tiny Colorado chipmunks along the way. There are a couple of off-site camping areas available with fire rings. There are no available toilets along the way.
