Trail Overview

Forest Service Road 9247B is just over 1 mile long and was mapped from Highway 260 to its intersection with Forest Service Road 9D. The trail begins relatively easy, with a mostly smooth surface that gradually becomes more rutted and rocky as it heads southeast. Several dispersed camping spots can be found near the start of the route. Along the way, you'll encounter a few low-lying areas that can become muddy and difficult to navigate after rain or snow. The trail passes through open meadows dotted with scattered juniper trees, offering pleasant views of the surrounding landscape. As you near the intersection with Forest Service Road 9D, the trail becomes noticeably rockier, providing the most challenging section of the route.
