Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 9243C clocks in at just under 3 miles long. This trail was mapped from its entrance off Highway 260 to its intersection with Forest Service Road 9242B. The route begins as a fairly easy-going drive until you pass an old cattle water tank. From there, the trail becomes increasingly rocky, with loose rocks covering much of the surface.
As you descend toward Wire Corral Tank, you'll encounter a sizable rock obstacle that requires careful tire placement. Beyond this obstacle, the trail remains rocky as it climbs up to a saddle. At the saddle, the route makes a sharp turn to the east and becomes significantly rougher.
The southeastern portion of the trail transitions into a rocky shelf road with several large rock gardens that must be navigated. The trail remains technical and demanding as you approach its end at Forest Service Road 9242B.
Difficulty
Expect an uneven and rocky trail featuring loose rocks, large rock gardens, and erosion. Obstacles up to 18 inches tall, including rock ledges and short steep climbs, are present throughout the route.
