Trail Overview

This route consists of two Forest Service roads: Forest Road 9242B and Forest Road 9206V. The trail begins on Forest Road 9242B and starts fairly easy-going. As the route climbs in elevation, the surface becomes increasingly rocky, with loose rocks covering much of the trail. The trail also becomes faint as it climbs onto a saddle, requiring careful route-finding in some sections. The farther west you travel, the rockier the trail becomes, with relentless rock gardens and loose rocks throughout. Many of the larger rocks show clear signs of rigs scraping and bashing undercarriages against them. Near the end of the trail, the route opens up to several scenic views of the surrounding area.
