Trail Overview
FS 3821 offers one of the more rewarding backcountry experiences in the area, delivering a stunning natural progression from dense forest to sweeping panoramic views of the Vermillion Cliffs in the distance. The route winds through the forest before ascending a ridge, where expansive canyon vistas open up dramatically. From there, the trail follows the ridgeline over gentle rolling hills and across a valley before concluding in a secluded treed area. Along the way, travelers will pass through a small aspen grove, adding seasonal beauty to the journey — particularly striking during fall color season. Watch for fallen trees and be prepared to cut through, go over, or turn around. Stay on the trail. There are no established campsites in the area.
