Trail Overview
FS 225F is an out-and-back route that traces a narrow dirt and gravel track westward from Buffalo Ranch through a diverse and scenic pine forest. The trail weaves through trees with a few tight, overgrown sections, but remains passable. It is notably lined with Ponderosa Pines of all ages and sizes, including abundant new growth, offering a rich and varied forest experience throughout. Travelers should be aware that the marked endpoint on the map does not reflect conditions on the ground — the trail continues beyond that point and connects to the Arizona Trail and is not closed, as some maps may indicate. Always look for Forest signs indicating if a road is closed. Watch for fallen trees along the route. A pleasant, forest drive best suited for high-clearance vehicles, comfortable navigating narrow and occasionally overgrown terrain.
Difficulty
Fairly easy to navigate, no technical obstacles, but a few quick, sharp turns through the trees, pay attention. Lots of little S turns.
