Trail Overview
This scenic desert trail begins in a broad wash before climbing through a couple of washed-out sections to the higher terrain. Once on top, the trail widens into an easy-to-follow route that winds through classic Sonoran Desert landscapes. The surface consists primarily of dirt and loose gravel, with small to large rocks lining both sides of the trail. A few shallow washes cross the route but are generally straightforward and shouldn't present any significant challenges in dry conditions. As you travel the trail, keep an eye out for overhanging cholla cactus and thorny desert vegetation that can easily leave pinstripes or snag riders and passengers. The area is dotted with several established dispersed camping rings, making it a great place to spend the night while enjoying the quiet desert surroundings. Numerous spur trails branch off throughout this section; this route offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy Arizona's backcountry.
