Trail Overview

PE1119 is a smooth, wide gravel trail running east-west from Highway 191 through lush desert scenery. The trail passes several natural water tanks, all located north of the route, and connects into a larger network of trails. There are no technical obstacles, but recent rain can make the water crossings impassable, so conditions can change quickly after monsoons. As the trail gains elevation toward the mountains, it narrows around the base and crosses a cattle guard, with larger loose gravel requiring reduced speeds. Watch for livestock, enjoy the mountain scenery, and look back for great views toward Safford.
