Trail Overview

BLM PE1031 is a mostly flat, rocky 2-track loop winding through a desert valley surrounded by mountains. The trail alternates between rocky and smoother sections, with typical desert vegetation including cacti, mesquite, and creosote. A large wash runs along the back side of the loop, with the trail staying above it and opening into several spacious areas suitable for camping. Great spots throughout for sunsets and stargazing. Watch for low ground-covering cacti—they bite for days. The loop eventually circles back to Powerline Road on the west side.
