Trail Overview
Beginning at the North-South Road intersection, this route offers the straightest, widest, and best-maintained path back to pavement. It's a generally smooth ride suitable for any vehicle with decent ground clearance--2WD or 4WD. The road runs in a mostly direct line, making navigation simple, though you'll encounter frequent washboard sections along the way. Keep an eye out for local birdlife and impressive stands of El Cordon cactus that add scenic interest to the journey. Near the end of the straightaway, the road makes a sharp right turn--almost 90 degrees--before connecting with another marked onX trail. From there, it's just a short mile or two to Ramatidas, where the pavement resumes. A left at the same intersection will take you to the highway near Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateo.
Difficulty
This is an easy route suitable for any vehicle with decent ground clearance. While there are a few broken cattle guards along the way, they pose no significant obstacle, and four-wheel drive is not necessary to travel this road.
