Trail Overview

This off-road route begins at the expansive dry lake bed and heads southeast toward several well-known fishing spots along the coast. Commonly used in local off-road races, the trail features sections of loose sand, occasional whoops, and some well-worn ruts, but generally remains manageable--especially when traveling downhill toward the coast, where four-wheel drive is rarely necessary in dry conditions. As the route meets a well-maintained road, you'll have options: continue straight to explore fishing areas beyond the mangroves and access the beaches near Punta Cancun, or turn right toward the sand dunes and the broader expanse of Magdalena Bay.
