Trail Overview

This off-road route begins just off one of the region's largest dry lake beds and heads southeast if approached from the north. Frequently used in local races, the trail features a mix of whoops and consistent two to three-inch deep sand, making for a soft but steady ride. The terrain gently descends through mid-sized desert scrub, with striking El Cordon cactus punctuating the landscape. The route runs nearly straight and, while 4WD typically isn't required, it's recommended due to the persistent sandy conditions. Scenic desert views accompany the descent, which ultimately connects to a well-maintained gravel road at the junction leading toward Punta Cancun.
