Trail Overview
Approaching from the south, this trail follows a direct south-to-north path commonly used in Baja off-road races, characterized by a narrows single-vehicle track with 2 to 4 inches of sand and small whoops throughout. The route gently climbs and descends 20 to 30 meters several times, maintaining a steady rhythm through the desert terrain. After a well-defined left turn, the trail begins a more continuous descent toward the fishing village of San Vicente. As you near the coast, you'll pass scattered piles of discarded clam and oyster shells left by local fishermen, and views of the estuary begin to open up. Upon reaching the camp, you're greeted by a beach at the shoreline and several scenic trail options branching north and south along the coast.
Difficulty
4WD or the ability to air down your tires is could become necessary in a few sections where moderate climbs combined with 2 to 4 inches of sand may pose a challenge for some vehicles. Aside from those brief areas, the route is generally very easy to navigate under dry conditions.
