Start from the main trailhead at 319 Joslen Blvd and follow the Blue Trail through open meadows and lightly wooded terrain. After a short distance, the route enters mixed forest and gently climbs toward a junction with the Yellow Trail. Turn right onto the Yellow Trail and continue through more shaded woodland, keeping an eye out for muddy sections in wetter seasons. The trail winds toward a subtle ridgeline with intermittent views of the Hudson River and Catskill foothills.
When the yellow Trail begins to descend, watch for a connector that leads back to the Blue Trail. Turn left at the junction and retrace the Blue Trail toward the main parking area. For a longer option, stay right to follow a southern spur of the Yellow Trail that loops through quiet woodland before reconnecting with the main Blue Trail. This adds a low-effort extension and a more secluded feel to the route. This route blends mellow elevation changes, river overlooks, and a mix of meadow and woodland—ideal for a relaxed half-day hike in the Hudson Valley.
