Description
This easy trail begins at the parking area for The Willows at Brandow Point, just south of Athens, NY, and forms a short circuit by combining the Yellow Trail and Red Trail. From the trailhead, follow the Red Trail through open meadow before entering mixed hardwood forest. Continue downhill toward the Hudson River, where the route meets the Yellow Trail near the shoreline. Turn right to follow the Yellow Trail along the river, passing beneath tall trees with occasional clearings that offer wide views across the water. The trail eventually climbs gently back uphill, returning to the meadow near the historic William Brandow House. The combination of riverbank walking, forest cover, and quiet fields makes this a peaceful outing for hikers seeking a quick, low-elevation route with scenic value.
