Description
This route begins at the parking area on Co Route 8 at Keep Conservation Preserve. From the kiosk, follow the red-blazed trail south into the woods. The wide path enters mixed forest and quickly reaches a Y-intersection—stay left to hike the outer loop clockwise. The trail weaves gently through maple and pine forest, passing several narrow footbridges and occasional trail markers. At roughly the halfway point, stay left again at another junction to remain on the red trail as it swings east toward low-lying wetland areas. This section can be muddy in spring and after heavy rain. The forest canopy thins slightly before the trail bends north and climbs gradually back toward the entrance. Stay straight at all intersections to complete the loop. This quiet preserve is a good option for year-round walking, offering a peaceful, shaded forest route with intermittent wildlife activity.
