Point to Point
Starting from the main parking area at the Won Dharma Center in Claverack, this mellow forest route forms a wide, uninterrupted loop through quiet woods and open fields. The path begins near the welcome sign, where visitors are encouraged to respect the center’s contemplative atmosphere. Head south into the trees, following clear signage that marks the outer loop. Around a short distance in, the trail passes a few small benches and meditation spots tucked among the hardwoods.
The route continues over gently rolling terrain, weaving between shaded forest and grassy clearings with views of the distant Catskill foothills. There are no major climbs, and footing remains stable throughout, though some muddy sections may appear after rainfall. The path eventually curves back north, skirting the edge of open meadows before reentering the woods and returning to the starting point. While there are no reliable water sources on the trail itself, restrooms and drinking water may be available at the center during open hours. This route offers a quiet and meditative hiking experience ideal for short outings and peaceful day hikes in the Hudson Valley.
