Description
This route begins at the Mud Pond Conservation Area Parking Lot off North Road in Williston, Vermont. From the trailhead, follow the wide path to the right, where it quickly crosses South Rd to Mud Country Park. From here, the path loops through forested terrain while offering chances to spot wildlife among the trees. After closing the loop, head back along the trail to cross South Rd and return to the parking area. This is a shared-use trail with sections open to mountain biking, and leashed dogs are allowed. While the trail is accessible year-round, conditions are best from spring through fall. Snowshoes are recommended in winter. Expect muddy stretches following rain, and bring insect protection in warmer months. There are no reliable water sources on the route, so plan accordingly. This mellow route rewards with a peaceful walk and close-up views of a healthy Vermont bog ecosystem.
