The Lake Iroquois Walking Trail begins near the Lake Iroquois Recreation District parking area off Beebe Lane in Williston, Vermont. This easy, novice-friendly route forms a forested loop around a section of the lake’s eastern shore, offering consistent glimpses of the water through the trees. From the trailhead, follow the well-marked path as it winds gently through hardwood forest. A few short spur trails provide closer access to the lake’s edge, and interpretive signs along the way highlight natural features and local wildlife.
This is a popular spot for birdwatching and wildlife observation, especially in the spring and fall. While the terrain is mostly flat with only slight elevation changes, the trail can become muddy or flooded after rain. Be prepared for mosquitoes and ticks during warmer months. Dogs are welcome on leash, but bikes and motorized use are not permitted. The trail is open seasonally, with closures possible during mud season or after heavy snowfall. This short, scenic route is ideal for families, casual hikers, and anyone looking for a peaceful walk with views of Lake Iroquois.
