Description
This easy route starts at the main parking area off Boughton Hill Road and connects the Inner Pond Trail with the East Pond Trail, forming a gentle circuit around two of Boughton Park’s three scenic ponds. Begin by following the East Pond Trail southward along the eastern shoreline, where wetlands and open water attract a variety of migratory birds. After passing several fishing access points and a few minor trail junctions, continue as the path curves west to meet the Inner Pond Trail. Turn right to follow the Inner Pond Trail northward, tracing the edge of Inner Pond through mixed woods and occasional open meadows. This section can be muddy in spring or after rain, and mosquitoes are common in summer, so plan accordingly. Keep an eye out for seasonal wildflowers in spring and vibrant foliage in fall. The route eventually returns to the parking area, completing a relaxed, family-friendly circuit.
