This peaceful route in Boughton Park starts and ends at permitted parking lots near Stirnie Road and loops past three serene water features: Fisherman’s Pond, West Pond, and East Pond. Hikers follow a clearly defined network of easy trails, beginning near Fisherman’s Pond and heading toward West Pond’s forested shoreline. From there, the path continues through wooded sections and transitions to the Eagle Trail, which curves around East Pond before circling back to the start. The terrain varies from hard-packed dirt to occasional stone and muddy sections, especially after rain. Fallen logs may be present along the Eagle Trail. Birdwatchers and anglers frequent the route for its lake views and waterfowl sightings. Despite its accessibility, the area is often quiet and lightly trafficked. This is a good choice for easy day hikes near Rochester, with rewarding pond scenery and peaceful woodland walking.
