Loop
The Deep Hollow Loop begins and ends near a trailhead on White Oak Road in the Haldeman Tract of Weiser State Forest. From the trailhead, head southeast on Iron Mine Trail and quickly reach a Y-intersection—stay right to begin climbing Deep Hollow Trail. The trail ascends steadily through mixed hardwood forest, eventually reaching the ridgetop near a hang gliding launch site. Turn left onto Rocks Ridge Trail and continue northeast across Wolf Pond Road.
After crossing the road, follow Rocks Ridge Trail until it connects with Schreffler Trail. Turn left onto this wide forest path for a short distance, then make another left onto Iron Mine Trail. This final stretch gradually descends through quiet woods, passing the Rowland Picnic Area before returning to the trailhead. Footing can be uneven in places with roots and loose rock, and intersections may not be clearly marked—carrying a map or GPS is recommended. This moderate route offers a peaceful day hike with varied terrain, forest solitude, and occasional ridge views.
