The Lovejoy Trails begin from a small parking area on Lovejoy Road in Loudon, New Hampshire, and offer a short but varied network of well-marked woodland routes. The Main Trail heads in from the road, crossing a wetland via boardwalk before connecting to several loops and spur trails. Martha’s Trail makes a gentle circuit through forested terrain and past old stone walls, while the Highland Loop climbs to a wooded high point with more rugged footing. A short red-blazed trail adds a steeper option connecting the upper and lower trails. Additional short connectors like the Green Erratic Trail and the Orange Hillside Trail provide options to customize the route.
This trail system features a mix of flat sections, mellow hills, and occasional muddy spots depending on the season. Historic features—including an old rangeway and remnants of 18th-century farms—add interest along the way. The route is best suited to casual day hikers and walkers looking for a quick, scenic outing in the woods.
