Description
The Chili Nature Trail begins just behind the Chili Heights Apartment complex off Chili Avenue in the Town of Chili. Managed by the local parks department, this short, easy route winds through a peaceful section of the Black Creek Watershed. From the trailhead, hikers can follow the path through open fields and shaded forest segments, some forming “tree tunnels” in summer. Two overlook platforms offer views of Black Creek, and a small pond adds variety to the surrounding landscape. This local walking trail is generally flat with only minimal elevation change, making it suitable for casual hikes and year-round use. The route is well-suited for leashed dogs and quiet nature walks, though it can become muddy after rainfall. While there are no formal facilities, its close proximity to nearby neighborhoods makes it a convenient escape into nature.
