Description
The Conesus Inlet Trail begins at the parking lot off Sliker Hill Road on the south end of Conesus Lake. The path follows level terrain through the Conesus Inlet Wildlife Management Area, with boardwalk sections carrying hikers over wetland habitat. The route passes through cattail marshes and stands of hardwoods, offering frequent opportunities to spot waterfowl, herons, and bald eagles. As the trail continues north toward the lake, it winds along channels of the inlet with views opening toward Conesus Lake itself. This is a prime location for birdwatching, wildlife photography, and quiet walking, especially in summer and fall when conditions are drier. The return follows the same route back to the trailhead. Despite its short length and easy grade, the trail delivers a rewarding mix of wetlands, wildlife, and water views that showcase one of Livingston County’s most unique natural areas.
