Bald Mountain Trail

After finding the Aitken State Forest kiosk, continue past it and the metal gate. The trail will not be far down the service road and will be to the right of the road. The trail has a steady yet steep climb. At around 0.3 miles, there will be a fork; continue left up the mountain. Around 0.7 miles, there will be the Pico Vista overlooking the back side of the resort mountain and the surrounding peaks. The trail continues to climb until another unnamed vista around mile 1.4 but will level out as the trail begins to traverse across the ridge. Continue 0.2 miles to the trail junction for the Bald Mountain Lower Loop and the Bald Mountain Trail. Continue on the Bald Mountain Trail 0.1 miles to the North Vista. The North Vista overlooks Rutland City and the surrounding mountains. The rest of the trail is a gradual descent for 0.8 miles to the trail fork. Continue 0.2 miles to the service road, and follow the road back to the kiosk.
