Beginning at the Long View Park entrance on River Road in New Baltimore, this short route combines the Farm Path and Overlook Path to form an easy circuit through open fields and wooded slopes. From the trailhead, follow the Farm Path past remnants of the 19th-century Bronk Farm, including old stone walls and agricultural buildings. The route gently descends through former pastures toward the riverbank, where views open across the Hudson and north toward Albany. Continue along the shore to the remains of a historic ice house and small beach area before climbing gradually back uphill on the Overlook Path.
Throughout the hike, open meadows bloom with wildflowers in spring and summer, and the elevated viewpoints provide wide panoramas up- and down-river year-round. This easy walk offers a quiet, family-friendly outing with rewarding scenery and a glimpse into the region’s farming and industrial past.
