Point to Point
This moderate point-to-point route begins just outside Brockway near Arch Street and heads west through a remote, wooded corridor to Allens Mills Road. Converted from a former rail line, the trail climbs and descends gradually along a rolling grade, crossing Mill Creek five times on historic trestles. From the start, follow the obvious rail-trail path westward. There are few official markers or signed trailheads, so GPS navigation is helpful. Around the halfway mark, the trail enters a low-lying wetland area with beaver ponds and frequent bird sightings, including herons and grouse. Continue west to reach the terminus at Allens Mills, where the trail ends near Reitz Bottom Road.
The surface is a mix of gravel, uneven ballast, and occasional mud, especially after rain or spring thaw. The route passes through private property—please stay on the trail and be respectful. Trail runners, hikers, and mountain bikers use this corridor year-round, though it's best suited for sturdy footwear or bikes with wide tires. While there are no major climbs, the rough tread and wet sections can make this route moderately challenging in places. Eventually, the trail is expected to extend farther southwest toward Brookville. For now, the route offers quiet scenery, wildlife viewing, and a rewarding mix of terrain for those prepared to navigate its rugged stretches.
