Point to Point
This moderate route winds through the northern part of the Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park. Beginning at the Stone Arch Bridge parking area on Hartford Avenue in Uxbridge, follow a wooded traverse of the eastern side of Goat Hill before reaching Goat Hill Lock, one of several historic remnants of the old canal system. At this junction, turn left onto the Canal Towpath Trail and continue along lower, gentler terrain near the water. Follow the Canal Towpath Trail and Plummer’s Trail north to Plummer’s Landing, then retrace your steps back to the starting point.
In addition to historic canal remnants, wildlife sightings are possible near the river, and scenic views open up along the lower section of trail. Although the trail is open year-round, conditions can become muddy or slippery after rain, and some rugged segments require sturdy footwear. This is a rewarding route for those exploring day hikes in the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor.
