This route begins at the main trailhead within West Hill Park near Uxbridge, Massachusetts, part of the West Hill Dam recreation area. From the parking area, head north on West Hill Dam Road, then turn right to cross the dam. On the far side, pick up the East Woodland Trail and continue north through forest and open terrain until reaching Mendon Road. The route curves gently around the park’s eastern side before retracing the same path back to the trailhead.
The terrain is mostly flat with a few gradual rises, making it a good option for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. Several side trails provide access to the riverbank or allow hikers to explore other areas of the park. Expect seasonal wildflowers, frequent bird activity, and occasional views of the West River and reservoir. One short section follows a paved road shoulder—use caution around traffic. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed, and seasonal closures may affect crossings near Mendon Road. This relaxed forest-and-field route offers varied terrain and regular river views close to town.
