Description
This route begins at the parking area east of Rice City Pond along Hartford Avenue in Uxbridge. Head north along King Phillip’s Trail through the woodlands of Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park. This section parallels the river on mostly level terrain and weaves through a mix of floodplain forest and upland sections. Keep left at all junctions and make a final brief climb to the top of Lookout Rock. An alternate, shorter option begins from Quaker Street, joining the main route shortly before the final ascent. The last climb involves a short, steep scramble—use caution, especially in wet or icy conditions. At the top, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views across the Blackstone River valley from a rocky promontory perched high above the treetops.
