Trail Overview

This short trail breaks off the North Sandhills backway and is significantly tighter than the main routes. Wide or tall vehicles should expect heavy pinstriping, and carrying a chainsaw or handsaw is recommended. The trail is mostly dirt with 1–2 inch rocks, 8–10 inch ruts, low-hanging trees, and sections requiring careful navigation. At 0.2 miles, a private campsite surrounded by aspens fits one vehicle and offers a scenic forest setting. The trail includes multiple log obstacles, with some logs up to 16–18 inches in diameter, and washouts ranging from 18–30+ inches deep near the end. Expect difficult terrain requiring high clearance, 4WD or AWD, capable tires, and careful driving. Overall, this is a short but extremely challenging trail through beautiful aspen forest. It requires an experienced driver, spotter, and willingness to accept pinstriping and obstacles.

Difficulty

This trail has tight forest conditions, deep washouts, large log obstacles, and limited vehicle clearance. Low-hanging trees create significant pinstriping risk, while 16–18-inch logs and 30+ inch washouts require high clearance, 4WD or AWD, and careful line selection.
