Trail Overview
This is the Northern entrance trail into the Forest County ATV/SXS area trail system. This trail begins at the trailhead parking lot and travels north up the side face of one of the large hills in the area. This section of the trail is very rocky and rutted out. Once atop the hill, the trail begins to navigate west as it starts its loop around and down to the other trails in this area. The remainder of this trail navigates along the top of the hills in this area. The woods this trail runs through are very thick, but some small clearings will give way to excellent views that overlook the surrounding landscape. This trail, like all others in the Forest County ATV/ SXS area trail system, is full of water, mudholes, and deep ruts. These range in depth from 6 to 18 inches. Some of the ruts can be hard to avoid, as there are several areas that have multiple sets of ruts that run throughout the trail.
Difficulty
This trail can be completed by individuals of all experience levels; however, it will test the more novice riders, as well as less capable machines. The entrance to this trail is a steep hill climb that has deep ruts and large rocks throughout. The remainder of the trail is littered with 6 to 18-inch deep mud holes, as well as large ruts. These ruts can be hard to avoid, as there are typically several that run through each mud hole. Machines that have low ground clearance will struggle to make it through some of these ruts.
