W-1000

W-1000 is a 2.7-mile out-and-back route open to street-legal vehicles. This single-lane gravel road travels through Washington DNR land, and a Discover Pass is required to recreate in the area. The route has experienced significant water damage, with heavy rutting, sections of larger loose rock, and increasing brush encroachment. At approximately 2.5 miles, a landslide narrows the roadway and is passable only by high-clearance 4x4 vehicles with careful tire placement, as rocks on either side pose a risk of body damage. The route continues a short distance beyond the slide before ending at a very small turnaround just before an impassable washout.
