Trail Overview
Stafford Creek Road is a 3.4-mile out-and-back route that follows Stafford Creek through a scenic forested valley. The single-lane gravel road is generally smooth and wide, with only occasional sections of fist-sized loose rock. Numerous dispersed campsites line the route, many offering easy access to Stafford Creek and plenty of room for larger groups. The road provides access to the Miller Bear Trailhead and ends at a small loop turnaround with parking for hikers. Stafford Creek is listed as a three-season access trail for both motorized and non-motorized travel.
Difficulty
Stafford Creek Road is an easy route suitable for most vehicles. The road is generally well maintained, with the primary obstacles being occasional loose rock and typical forest road potholes or washboarding that may develop throughout the season. Most passenger vehicles can reach the trailhead in dry conditions. As with most forest roads, conditions can change following storms or spring runoff. As with most trails in the area, bringing a chainsaw or equipment to clear fallen trees is recommended.
