FS 9701

This road starts out as a 1.5-lane, well-maintained gravel road, and gradually narrows to a single lane. The road is blocked by a large tree across the road about 4.5 miles in. The road does change character at the last intersection, with no obvious maintenance beyond there. The spur that continues ahead to Way Creek trailhead does appear better maintained. FS 9701 does have ruts and erosion damage and some exposed embedded rocks at the upper end.
