Trail Overview
This trail starts off wide and gravel-based, then about halfway through narrows to one vehicle-wide with places to pass and becomes dirt-based. The trail gradually climbs nearly 1,900 feet in elevation and has mostly two tracks on the upper half. Closer to the top, the trail becomes grassy and moist, holding water, and eventually narrows down with overgrown vegetation to the point that the final switchback can no longer be taken. There are several switchbacks, many humps/whoops, and minor ruts and wash with an occasional ledge on one side. Overall, this trail is easy and suitable for any vehicle type, and you will have great views of the mountains around you. Camping is available along this entire trail, and there are several dispersed campsites along the way. There are no amenities and no cell phone service, so travel prepared. The nearest services and supplies are approximately 30 minutes away in Metaline Falls.
