Trail Overview

This is a smooth, hard-packed, gravel-based forest road up to the Riverside Canyon Overlook. Past the overlook, the trail narrows and transitions to a dirt base with two-track sections. Along the dirt section, there is overgrown vegetation and minor ruts and wash, but any vehicle type should have no issues on this trail. The trail dead-ends at a closed gate where the road ends in a grassy campsite area; however, there is no view of the river canyon unless you take the walking path through the tree line at the overlook. The cell phone service was weak, and the only amenity on the trail was the vault-style restrooms at the overlook. The nearest services and supplies are approximately 15 minutes down the highway from the beginning of this trail in Metaline Falls, Washington.
