Trail Overview
FRF-1010 is an easy, winding forest trail approximately 60 inches wide, following a mostly firm hardpack dirt surface through dense woods. The route begins with straightforward riding conditions and no significant technical obstacles. Approximately three-quarters of the way in, vegetation begins to encroach on the roadway, reducing overhead clearance and creating a tunnel of thick greenery. The farther you travel, the denser the vegetation becomes, requiring riders to watch for low branches and narrowing passageways. Several pull-offs along the trail offer opportunities for dispersed camping where permitted. The trail eventually ends where heavy overgrowth prevents further vehicle travel. Motorized access is subject to Washington DNR road openings and posted restrictions, with street-legal vehicles, including plated motorcycles, being the conservative vehicle category when access is permitted.
Difficulty
The hardpack surface is generally smooth and presents no significant technical challenges. Increasing overgrowth during the final quarter reduces overhead clearance and usable trail width, requiring slower speeds and careful navigation.
