Trail Overview

Bucky is one of the only ATV routes in the Manastash trail system. The east end starts with a small portion of trail on the east side of FS 3100, before it crosses the road and heads towards the Manastash Campground. The trail goes through a mix of meadow and forest on a gradual, easy trail. It coincides with the Manastash Campground Road for 300 yards, then turns west into the forest again before passing a staging area. From here, it starts climbing a steeper and rockier path, with a couple of big, wide switchbacks. There are several signs for ATV Trail 30 to help follow this route. There are several rockier sections in the western half, with big loose rocks that you ride over. You’ll ride over a couple small wooden bridges, and riders should expect very dusty conditions during the summer. The ATV section of trail ends when it comes to the intersection with 1386.1 and 1386. It’s overall an easy route and is a good short option for families or kids looking to ride from the nearby campground.

Difficulty

This is an easy ATV Trail because the route remains gradual and free of any major obstacles. There are a few wide switchbacks, a bit of loose rock and embedded roots, but the trail is ideal for riders of all skill levels. The last section of trail on the west end is the steepest and rockiest part of the trail.
