Trail Overview

Bryan Butte is a short spur off of the Pasayten Drive singletrack. It looks lightly trafficked and becomes faint on the south end, petering out at a saddle after about a mile. The rest of the trail on the south end doesn't appear to exist anymore, as this area has had some reroutes and changes with fires. The short route has several rocky spots with big embedded boulders, drop-offs, and stair steps from embedded roots and rocks, and short, steep climbs that are loose and silty and rutted. The trail is narrow as it side-hills along a steep slope, with moderate exposure. It goes through dry and dusty terrain, and has some rutted sections. It goes south on a ridgeline from an unmarked intersection with Pasayten Drive Trail, winding tightly between big rocks and pine trees. Riders can check out this additional spur when riding the Pasayten Drive singletrack for additional mileage and views.

Difficulty

This is a moderate spur because it has frequent intermediate obstacles such as embedded boulders, narrow sections of trail, and rutted, loose terrain. This is accessed through a more advanced trail with extensive switchbacks.
