Trail Overview
Hostetter Flats provides access to the Craig Creek Recreation Day Use Area and offers a pleasant out-and-back gravel route through the surrounding countryside. The trail is decently to well maintained and is generally an easy drive, although users will encounter a few shallow but jarring mud puddles along the way. Outside of these puddles, the route is free of major obstacles and should be manageable for most vehicles.
The trail ends at a large circular parking area with plenty of space for users to stop, take a break, and prepare a meal. The recreation area also provides picnic tables, a large men's and women's pit toilet, and access to nearby hiking trails.
One of the biggest highlights is the access to the river, allowing users to relax along the water after exploring the trail. Overall, Hostetter Flats is a convenient and scenic route for accessing the area's recreational opportunities.
