Trail Overview

Bushwhack is a short but very rocky ATV trail in the Murdock Basin ATV trail system. It connects the Broadhead Loop to Birds Eye. The trail is constantly covered in a layer of tennis-ball-sized loose rocks that ping you around, with lots of small root bands across the trail, and bigger embedded rock faces that make it a slow-going trail. Some of the embedded rocks create small stair steps/drop offs less than a foot tall, but the trail is very gradual, so the ledges are not overly difficult. The trail curves sharply through the pine trees at times, requiring tight maneuvers. Midway through, there is a bigger moderate rock slab obstacle that riders will have to go over – it is multiple layers of uneven and chunky ramped boulder faces, about a foot tall. The trail is more primitive, looking slightly less ridden than some of the surrounding trails, with a couple fainter spots.

Difficulty

This is a moderate ATV trail due to a constantly rocky surface and a small rock face obstacle halfway through the route. Expect small rock gardens and potential downfall on the route. This is one of the rockier trails in the system.
