Trail Overview
Birds Eye is a short trail in the Murdock Basin ATV trail system that is constantly rocky. The wide two-track is covered in a layer of small loose rocks, with small embedded rock surfaces, and larger boulders. It goes through a gradual forested hillside with meadows and lodgepole pines, and part of the route is in a burn area where log hazards can become a problem. There are a few bigger boulders in the trail that ATVs will have to ride over. The surface is very chunky, and it will be a slow and bumpy ride for ATV riders. Most of the trail is flat, but there are a few steeper spots of climbing or descending, full of chunky rocks, that are slightly more difficult. The trail starts to peter out on the east end with a bit of downfall, but ends at a viewpoint on a pile of rocks looking over the bluff towards the High Uintas Wilderness.
Difficulty
This is a moderately easy ATV trail because although it is constantly rocky, there aren’t any major ledges or obstacles that would make it overly difficult. It is mostly gradual, with only a couple of steeper spots on the west side. Log hazards may be common in the burn area.
