Trail Overview

3D gets its name from the outstanding overlook views. This trail is great for families but may push the limits of some stock vehicles. 3D will take you to the bottom of the canyon and back up to the rim. Bring your camera for the stunning colors in Hidden Canyon, and then stop for a picnic near Brink Spring.

Difficulty

There are some two-track dirt sections, a little slick rock, a sandy and maybe wet wash bottom, and some rock/dirt mixtures with a few ledges.

The trail was empty, nobody there. Dry with a few mud puddles. There were some good obstacles and the views were fantastic. I started on the 7 mile rim trail around 9 am and turned on to 3D around 1:30 and finished at around 4:30. My Tacoma has a 2" lift with 34" tires, no locker, but I had no problems. Just gotta pick the right line.

Pretty dry. Not a lot of people on this trail given it was Memorial Day weekend. Nice overlook to have lunch at.

Nice trail, even in winter. The ledges were larger than we expected. Still doable for a stock vehicle as long as you take smart lines. Only used lockers a few times.
