Texas Traverse (Leg 1)

Entered from the south going north. Bridge is out with no way around. Still got to cross a cool bridge and saw a huge buck cross in front of me. Very slippery when wet. Lots of mud.

Came from the north end and came to a big iron gate across the road with many locks on it. Says no trespassing and your on camera. Had to turn around and go all the way back.

Several down trees in the Sam Houston national forest between Coldspring and Phelps area. Not a good area to turn around.

Drove this trail west to east starting new New Waverly. 99%of this trail is open and accessible. Right at the beginning there were multiple downed trees and past that the road is almost completely washed out. After that you’re clear till outside of Onalaska where there’s a gate closing off the trail. Had to skip up to Groveton to pick back up on the trail. DO NOT try to push through the mud south of Chester, just take 287 around and get back on at CR2570. Clear from there to the end.
