Trail Overview

The Tenmile Creek Trail offers a mix of rocky and clayey terrain with limestone banks. Watch for boulder fields, loose climbs, and water crossings. The trail runs through gently rolling prairies and wooded creek banks, with historical markers highlighting early settlements and abundant game like deer and turkey. Expect to see various wildlife and lush plant life. Cell service is spotty; Enjoy a refreshing drive alone the creek's natural limestone bank. After your adventure, treat yourself at the local ice cream shop in Ferris town.

Difficulty

This is a very easy trail for all vehicles as it's covered in gravel.

History

Originally, the creek was ten miles longer and flowed into the Trinity River in Ellis County before being diverted and channeled into its current location.

It was an empty gravel road. Not too scenic but fun for a quick little drive. Long stretch of straight road good place for someone to learn to drive

Mostly gravel road, broken blacktop in places. Made for a nice Sunday drive

Pretty dead gravel road. There were just some bumps and cracks in the corroding pavement. Although after exiting the trail, I came across some nice elevations and slightly more interesting roads than the trail itself.

Easy dirt roads punctuated with chunky and deteriorating pavement. Most stock passenger cars would have no trouble here. If you come at night, it’s an excellent low-stakes place to test auxiliary lighting.

Definitely a backroad, more deteriorating. Tried a few more connected road that looked a bit more fun but muddy and isolated.

It was more like a rough backcountry road, but it was scenic. There was some other roads that looked a bit more adventurous, but it looked a bit too muddy and im new so i didnt go down them!

Not really a trail , more so a country back road people probably forgot about. If you’re in the area sure stop by but other than that wouldn’t go out the way for this one.
